This drawing is representing life and the sacrifices that are made for life.  There is no life without the sun's rays, the planet we live on and for one life to produce other life (the pregnant woman).  As a woman, I feel that we have the power to continue in life or not.  Having a child is a risk to our own health, even today. Society says women are the weaker of the species, but I see it as we are the reason life can continue.

For me, I believe that for a piece of work to be labeled 'art,' it must have meaning and thought behind the piece.  I only create pieces of work that go beyond a 'pretty scenic picture.'  I challenge myself to ask the most difficult questions about life and translate those thoughts into visual paintings/drawings.  My thoughts take me to so many different places that challenge the current beliefs in society.  Art does not have to be beautiful or like a picture.  Art needs to be the result of individuals expressing the most unique thing at the moment that will never happened again: the imagination created by the individual soul.

Love this portrait of Robin Williams. It conveys the warmth and personality of this amazing guy so well.

This artist sure had fun painting this scene of the Universe! Reading the story with the painting, you can see how the process of painting is such a joy, and the artist actually goes on this journey outside the every day world to travel among galaxies and stars. Isn't that the real point to painting?

Although the title evokes something completely different for me, the colors, values, drawing and movement in this piece are wonderful!

Wonderful Native Indian portrait, with an amazing sense of movement and spontaneity, yet beautifully executed with a perfect underlying drawing -- difficult to achieve proportional correctness with respect to the angle of view. Colors washes and accent lines add interest and the upward flow really does convey the feeling of pride and purpose.

I love this night scene depicting Native Indians gliding in stealth across this slow moving waterway in their bark canoe. The angles of the bank and water reeds create a wonderful sense of depth. The composition is excellent, leading to a sense of a story by the placement of elements; the colors -- vibrate with interest from the range of deep blues to the red tinges of color on the canoe.
