    Description

This is Clovelly, a wonderful village in North Devon. I loved the view down over the harbour and the 'S' curve made by the small boats attracted me to make this painting.

Design always triumphant in the contest for capturing the eye. The balance and flow of the subject matter flows along in this powerful piece. The artist was also careful to minimize some elements which could have destroyed the work; light, drawing and other traits also impress.

Love this portrait of Robin Williams. It conveys the warmth and personality of this amazing guy so well.

This artist sure had fun painting this scene of the Universe! Reading the story with the painting, you can see how the process of painting is such a joy, and the artist actually goes on this journey outside the every day world to travel among galaxies and stars. Isn't that the real point to painting?

Although the title evokes something completely different for me, the colors, values, drawing and movement in this piece are wonderful!

Wonderful Native Indian portrait, with an amazing sense of movement and spontaneity, yet beautifully executed with a perfect underlying drawing -- difficult to achieve proportional correctness with respect to the angle of view. Colors washes and accent lines add interest and the upward flow really does convey the feeling of pride and purpose.

I love this night scene depicting Native Indians gliding in stealth across this slow moving waterway in their bark canoe. The angles of the bank and water reeds create a wonderful sense of depth. The composition is excellent, leading to a sense of a story by the placement of elements; the colors -- vibrate with interest from the range of deep blues to the red tinges of color on the canoe.
