This is a favorite spot in northwestern Washington for visitors to hike, picnic or just stare at the massive falls from several observation platforms. The luxurious Salish Lodge and Spa is shown in the upper left of the painting. This scenic place is located near the towns of Snoqualmie and Fall City, WA. This painting was taken from a photograph that my wife took on a bright sunny day sometime in August. We hiked the steep trail to the bottom of the falls and the mist from the water felt good on our faces as we walked back up the trail. We ended the day with a picnic before we headed back home.

I like how you showed an emotion with abstract shapes. You definitely get the point across without words.

    Another winner Brian.. love it.

    Subtle and beautiful

The subtle transitions of color are really well executed.

Fleeting kiss or Salsa Dancing? There's a dynamism and enough of a hint of figures to suggest different things to each viewer. I see Salsa dancers with others swirling around them.

    pure anguish

Highly skilled artist. Everything reinforces the anguish emanating from the child; light up high, ominous dark below, cool tones of hair, wintery coolness of background, selective warm tones of face, centered composition.
